FOCUS: Gum Disease
Gum disease strikes 90% of the population in the UK.
It is the number-one cause of tooth loss – yet many patients don’t take it seriously until it is too late. It is a silent disease that attacks our gums without pain or discomfort. If it goes untreated people will lose teeth. Sadly in some cases, patients realise too late.
The good news is this disease is controllable for the majority of the population if you do not ignore bleeding gums.
We have put together some interesting articles and videos completed from our practice to help explain the disease in more detail and the options available.
Please share and spread the word so friends and family members become more aware, as no one should loose teeth to gum disease.
We are always here for you and your family.

I knew my gums were bleeding but thought nothing of it… Priyal’s story
Patient story of how a young professional had no idea she had gum disease and was in danger of losing her teeth.
Priyal was not a regular attendee at the dentist due to her dental anxiety. She would often put off going to the dentist until she needed to go.
Priyal had bleeding gums but thought nothing of it. She was unaware that this was the first sign of gum disease. When she finally attended the dentist, Priyal required an urgent referral to the London Dental specialists for urgent gum treatment. Yes, gum disease affects patients (like Priyal) in their early 30’s.
Please watch the video below to see Priyal’s thoughts about gum disease.
