Patient Story – Tooth Loss Due to Gum Disease Part 1

Gum disease is an incredibly common condition and a leading cause of tooth loss. Only 10% of human beings will not get gum disease. Unfortunately, it is a “silent” disease i.e. many times, there are no symptoms and by the time the tooth becomes loose, it is impossible to save the tooth.

This is the first of a 2-part blog. It describes the treatment of lovely patient was referred to me by an excellent general dentist. The patient had generalised, late stage gum disease where some of her lower front teeth were loose. Yet again, we were able to save most of her teeth with gum surgery and root canal treatment. The second part of the blog shows the aesthetic improvement of her lower front teeth.
