When a full course is the right answer

Crowded, rotated or spaced teeth, or a bite that does not meet properly, usually need more movement than a short aligner course can deliver. As part of our orthodontics in London, Invisalign Full has no cap on the number of aligners, so the plan can run for as long as the movement needs. Because the aligners are removable, they irritate the cheeks and lips less than fixed brackets. Dr Papagalani assesses at your first visit whether a full course is needed or a shorter one will do.

Specialist-led planning

Choosing the wrong aligner course is an avoidable setback: a short course cannot finish a case that needed a full one. We plan diagnosis first, so the course matches the movement your teeth need. If a full course is not required, we can discuss Invisalign Express for shorter corrections. If you would rather have a fixed appliance, we also provide self-ligating braces.

Fees are itemised before you commit, so you know what is included before you see the total.

Who Invisalign Full suits

Adults and older teenagers who want to correct their teeth without visible wires, and who can wear aligners for the prescribed hours each day. It is the discreet alternative to fixed or lingual braces for cases that need a full course. For adolescents we provide Invisalign Teen. After treatment, orthodontic retainers hold the result.

If dental visits make you anxious, say so when you book; we take the appointment at your pace. The specialist orthodontist examines your teeth and jaw alignment at the consultation, confirms whether this system fits your case and sets a timeline.

Your Invisalign Full sequence

Digital aligner mapping

We scan your teeth and decide whether you need the full series or a shorter course. For younger children, the equivalent is Invisalign First.

Custom aligner fabrication

Your aligners are made to the digital plan, each set moving the teeth a small step further. We explain the expected timeline and the possible complications before you start.

Aligner wear and movement

You wear each set for the prescribed hours each day and change to the next set on schedule. We check at review visits that the teeth are tracking to the plan.

Refinement

Near the end of the series we review the alignment and bite, and order refinement aligners if any tooth has not reached its planned position.

Retention

We fit retainers to stop the teeth drifting back. Fees for the full process are set out on our orthodontics costs in London page.

How we plan the movement

We plan with 3D imaging, which lets us show you a preview of the planned movement before you begin. Your care is led by Dr Kia Papagalani, specialist orthodontist.

Invisalign Full is one of several Invisalign courses we provide; Invisalign Lite, Teen and First cover moderate, adolescent and early cases, and Invisalign Express covers minor corrections and slight relapse.

Patient evidence

What patients tell us matters

Patients tell us they value a calm, unhurried manner, honest options and a consultation with no pressure to proceed. If your case turns out to be less complex than you expected, we will say so and discuss Invisalign Lite instead.

Clear answers on your treatment

How much does it cost?

The fee is set after your clinical assessment, when we know how much movement your case needs, and you receive an itemised quote.

How long does it take?

It depends on the complexity of your case. You get an estimated timeline once we have examined your teeth and planned the movement.

Is the process painful?

You may feel pressure for a day or two after changing to a new aligner. That is the aligner doing its work; it usually settles.

How long do results last?

As long as you wear your retainers as instructed. Our orthodontic aftercare guide explains what that involves.

Your aligner suitability assessment

Whether Invisalign Full is the right choice depends on your bite and alignment, which we assess at your orthodontic consultation. If you are comparing practices, we can explain how a full course differs from the shorter ones.
