Most jaw pain comes from overworked jaw muscles, usually from clenching or grinding, often during sleep. Less often the joint itself is the problem. Dental problems can add to it: a missing or broken tooth changes how the teeth meet and loads the joint unevenly. TMJ treatment is part of the general and family dentistry in London we provide. We use dental x-rays where they are needed to check the teeth and joints, keeping radiation exposure to a minimum, and we repair worn or decayed teeth so the bite is even.
