- Introduced the Hawley Bite Plate, a refined type of retention plate
- Presented papers on Determination of the Normal Arch and An Accurate Method in Orthodontia
- Papers were read at the 4th International Dental Congress and New York Institute of Stomatology
- Considered a pioneer in the use of nitrous oxide as an anesthetic for tooth removal
