Early Life and Education:
- Harold Kesling was born in Cass County, Indiana in 1901.
- He graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 1923 with a dental degree.

Orthodontic Career:
- Harold Kesling opened a private practice in La Porte, Indiana.
- In 1929, he opened an orthodontic practice in Hammond, Indiana.
- He developed the Positioner appliance during his work in the La Porte office.
- His technique attracted many orthodontists to his practice.
- He was influenced by Raymond Begg and his light wire technique.
- After learning about the Begg technique in Australia, he switched to using it in his treatment.
- Harold Kesling gave seminars and lectures on the Begg technique for 40 years.

Contributions to Orthodontics:
- Harold Kesling developed the Tip Edge appliance.
- He also developed the Positioner appliance.
- He was known for his diagnostic setup with consideration of the third dimension.

Awards and Positions:
- Harold Kesling was an Honorary President of the North American Begg Society of Orthodontists.
