  • SESSION 1 – ORGANISE YOUR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

    Dr Dhru Shah, (periodontist) founder and CEO of Dentinal Tubules has been living and breathing eCPD for the past 18 months, he has made it his personal mission to engage hygienists /therapists and advise them on the best way to formulate a PDP and work with the new CPD.

    Dhru and his team have really has done the hard work for you!  At tonight’s seminar, Dentinal tubules will tell you exactly how to create your PDP framework, how to assess  your skills, set goals and targets. They will also present their very useful platform on how to log activities and monitor your progress. Finally as a disclosure the talk mentions dentinal tubules as one of the source of the PDP and how the tubules intelligent PDP is a useful solution.

  • SESSION THREE – ADVANCED INSTRUMENTATION DAY

    Get out of the bad habits

    Enhance your periodontal instrumentation enabling you to treat patients more effectively with a greater skill and increased confidence. Each delegate will be given effective instrumentation training including techniques which will make you more efficient and effective. We will be comparing and contrasting various pieces equipment /instruments and techniques.

    Learn the latest concepts

    Ope Sodeinde and Jane Dyas will demonstrate precise placement of instruments for effective root surface debridement.
    • Learn an advanced approach to non-surgical periodontal debridement for the optimal clinical outcome.
    • Learn to create advanced fulcrums; giving optimum parallelism for easy access and instrumentation of deep periodontal pocket.
    • Perform exploration techniques to detect residual calculus deposits.
    • Understand the healing process in the periodontal pocket after root debridement.

  • SESSION FOUR – IMPLANT MAINTENANCE

    £38.00 \ 3 Hours eCPD Weds 20th March’19 Evening : 18:00 – 21:00 London

    Implants are increasingly becoming an everyday part of the work of hygienist /therapists. Whether you work in a practice that place implants or ‘inherit’ patients from elsewhere, this session will discuss the skills needed to confidently care for implants and the surrounding tissues and put in place the protocols needed for peri-implant assessment and maintenance.

    Peri-implantitis

    How to spot whether an implant with a restoration is doing its job and is clinically viable? What are the clinical features? We will discuss in detail on how hygienists can evaluate the success of an implant in their patient’s mouth and make a clinical judgement to refer back to the dentist or specialist. In addition, Ope will describe what are the most common reasons that implants fail.

  • SESSION FIVE – PERIODONTAL PLASTIC SURGERY

    This session covers the methods used and benefits of periodontal plastic surgery. We will discuss how to explain to patients the process and the outcomes plus provide them sound advice and perhaps help solve their aesthetic problems. Our open discussion will include the techniques available, patient stories, before and after pictures to demonstrate improvements in patients’ smiles.

    • Learn how to discuss the treatment of recession defects and a gummy smiles.
    • How to answer patients questions expansively.
    • Understand the types of periodontal plastic surgery.
    • Indications for surgery.
    • Case studies.

  • SESSION SIX – TEETH WHITENING DAY

    £200 | 7 hours eCPD Wednesday 5th June’19: 09:30 – 17:30

    The aim of the course is to provide dental hygienists and therapists the skills, knowledge and confidence to undertake tooth whitening in relation to their GDC scope of practice.

    Get the theory

    The morning will be covering in detail the theory of tooth whitening including treatment planning, how whitening works, patient consent.
    Be able to carry out an appropriate clinical examination to ensure there are no risk factors or other oral pathology of concern and to examine the patient for suitability for this procedure.

    Put it into practice!

    The second element of the day will be focussing on the hands-on elements taking alginate impressions, using techniques to ensure you have excellent fitting trays.

  • SESSION SEVEN – OCCLUSION REVEALED!

    £200 | 7 hours eCPD Weds’ 10th July’19: 09:30 – 18:00 Full day

    The dental hygienists/therapists are in the perfect position to screen
    for problems which may lead to occlusal OR temporomandibular disorders.

    If you have little understanding of malocclusion/TMJ issues and
    cannot get your head around occlusion problems then this course is a must for you!

    Get the Theory

    Ope will take each hygienist on a practical journey and teach how to:

    • Evaluate the patients condition and to be able to ask the right questions
    • Carry out an intraoral and extraoral examination
    • Develop good occlusal “habits” in the pursuit of excellent
      restorative results.
    • Diagnosis of the occlusion problem.
    Put it into practice!

    Be able to discuss with the patient the various treatments options available. Most importantly; Discuss your concerns pragmatically with the dentists.
